A textile archivist who listens deeply to the spirit of cloth, Sareekah Agarwaal brings her passion for India’s handmade textiles to life through her writing in the coffee table book titled ‘Anant: Sustainability and Circularity in Indian Handlooms.’ The book was officially launched at Bharat Mandapam in the distinguished presence of the Honorable Minister of State, Smt. Darshana Jardosh.
The book is a novel attempt to bring together the traditional as well as contemporary practices related to sustainability within the diverse spectrum of Indian handlooms. It celebrates the inherent relationship between age-old textile techniques and sustainability and presents the way forward towards adopting circularity and embracing mindful consumption.
