ASMITAA warmly invites you to Abhivyakti – an exhibition that brings forth the deeply personal and culturally rich textile collection of Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan, a visionary whose life and legacy were inseparable from the heritage of Indian arts and culture.

The exhibition showcases over 50 textiles, representing 50 different craft traditions from across India and is organized into six zones – East, West, North, South, Central and North East – each offering visitors an encounter with textile treasures representative of the region.

Conceived and curated by our Founder, Sareekah Agarwaal, the exhibition opens on Dec 29, 2025 and will remain on view through January 07, 2026 at The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi.

The inaugural ceremony will be graced by distinguished guests: Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, President, IGNCA, Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA and Prof. Ramesh C. Gaur, Dean (Administration), Director & Head, Kalanidhi Division, IGNCA.

Abhivyakti explores how textiles collected over a lifetime become part of our identity and tell our stories carrying with them memories, values, and emotional connections. Dr. Vatsyayan’s thoughtfully curated textile collection, now preserved at IGNCA, is one such story – a testament to her refined sensibility, her deep rooted engagement with India’s cultural traditions, and her belief in the power of safeguarding heritage.
